Innovate-A-thon Sprints
Innovation requires more than strong technical skills and knowledge. It requires a mindset,
confidence, and courage to generate new ideas, collaborate, and recognize views from all team
members. Innovate-A-thon (IAT) provides a unique opportunity for university students to
develop these characteristics and solve real world problems, while receiving a scholarship and
growing their professional networks and career opportunities.
Our unique internship program is in the form of a three-week innovation sprint:
Student Participants
Students from any U.S. university can apply to participate and create viable solutions for topics such as advanced recycling and sustainability, regenerative agriculture, resource effective prosthetics for developing regions, rechargeable battery adoption, 3-D printed custom footwear, pedestrian safety, and much more.

All students receive a modest scholarship, substantially boost their professional networks and career options, and – importantly – gain essential confidence and courage to collaboratively innovate
IAT Sprint
IAT Topics
In each sprint, 9-15 students work in teams of 3-5 to separately address the problem statement, innovate a solution, and illustrate technical and economic viability.
Topics are selected based on quarterly nationwide nominations and votes—all stakeholders have a say in topic selection! IATs are sponsored by industry and organizations with an interest in the topic. If a particular company or organization would like to sponsor an entire IAT sprint, they can designate a topic!
