INNOVATE-A-THON IS SWEEPING THE NATION—AND WE HAVE A GREAT WAY FOR YOU TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW IT WORKS AND HOW YOU CAN BE INVOLVED

Join us for the inaugural Innovate-A-thon Virtual Information Session Thursday, November 21 at 1:00pm MST. The session will be hosted on REMO.

All you need to do is register and we will send you the link.  Even if you are unable to attend, go ahead and register and we will send you a recording of the session!

The next generation workforce is looking to connect with industry, through real world and impactful opportunities. Unlike hack-a-thons or longer research capstone projects, Innovate-A-thon showcases real participant ingenuity over a sprint format which utilizes an effective 4 stage process that lays the foundation for creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, and culminates with scholarship awards for all participants. Innovate-A-thon has expanded nationwide to create an innovation impact platform reaching hundreds of students per year, allowing real change, advancing the innovation workforce in areas important to society. Don't miss the event to see how you can be a part of Innovate-A-thon as a student, mentor, industry participant, or financial supporter.

Through the virtual information session, Innovate-A-thon (IAT) team is excited to share how our approach to creating solutions for problems of society, environment, and economy involves students, industry, and philanthropy generating impactful results.  IAT impact spans many stakeholders, in many ways:

Selected students from among 794 universities participate in teams in a two week “sprint” to ideate and create technically and economically viable solutions—preparing students to achieve in the innovation workforce, make close connections with potential employers, and receive a modest scholarship.

Industry and mentors work with students and the IAT team in topics that are important to their industries and interests—benefiting directly from the innovations, engaging with bright and creative students, build their common networks, and affiliate their own brand with a dynamic, change making program.

Sponsors and philanthropists make it all possible—IAT is entirely nonprofit and all IAT sponsorship funds go directly to student scholarship and project materials—fueling the innovation workforce and catalyzing true impact. Sponsors can sponsor a full IAT, or sponsor a student scholarship ($600).  Non sponsor gifts of ANY amount are welcome, as well.

Society, environment, and economy are the ultimate beneficiaries—IAT topics include technically and economically viable above the knee prosthetics for individuals in developing regions, closed loop agriculture, water reclamation, and the next IAT (scheduled for the first two weeks of 2025), advanced recycling and sustainability—which was selected based on a nationwide vote during October, 2025.

IAT diligently involves industry, members of the general public, students, and supporters to inform and select topics.  The options for future IATs are almost endless.  Register to receive our newsletter, connect with us on LinkedIn, and sign up for our mail list to receive information about future topic selection—and be a part of the movement!
